Welcome to Service Teams at NHPBC
Our Service Teams are designed to support our church body. They provide many exciting and rewarding opportunities for you to grow spiritually and personally, serve others, and build valuable relationships through ministry. We desire to honor our Lord Jesus by providing caring and encouraging service for the needs of the church and our community.
Romans 12:4–6 “For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them.” (ESV)
Lights, Cameras, Sound! Oversee and control the audio/visual equipment for worship services and special meetings (e.g., adjusting the sound quality, recording audio and video of sermons, and projecting the lyrics for all worship songs) and make recommendation to the Elder Council regarding equipment storage and purchasing needs.
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? Romans 10:14
Assist with the maintenance and up-keep of our buildings and grounds—the irrigation systems, electrical systems, a/c systems, heat systems, lighting systems (interior & exterior), fences, planters and custodial equipment.
Everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
Coordinates and maintains a clean & pleasing appearance to the church. This includes planting flowers, caring for the grounds and tidying the sanctuary & rooms on a regular basis.
Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them…if service, in our serving. (Romans 12:6–7)
Provide a caring, safe, and orderly environment for families of infants and small children who come to our facility on Sunday morning.
One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. (Psalm 145:4)
Decorate and furnish church auditorium and other church facilities and grounds for regular worship and special occasions/holidays in an appropriate, modest, and tasteful manner that does not distract from the ministry of the Word.
If anyone serves, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 4:11).
Assist the church’s fellowship meal times by providing sign-up sheets for dishes, setting up kitchen and gym for mealtimes, arranging for adequate food and drink, overseeing teardown of gym and cleanup/storage of kitchen items, and procuring (or notifying office administrative staff of) needed stock in the kitchen
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (Acts 2:42)
Coordinate the counting, depositing and recording of receipts for regular and occasional offerings. Ensure the process is handled in a well-organized and accountable manner.
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)
Promote a loving and friendly welcome to all church attendees; facilitate caring follow-up among visitors which will encourage regular attendance at worship services. Provide each visitor with gospel material, and, as the Lord provides, assist the integration of newcomers into the body of believers at NHPBC.
Provide for orderly and efficient worship service assembly and collection of offerings. Ensure sanctuary readiness for Sunday worship, arrange for greeters and ushers.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. (Romans 15:7)
Ensure that the practical, material needs of every member are met. Assistance may be extended to regular attenders and church “neighbors” on a case by case basis. Such care may include sitting with or shopping for a shut-in, bringing someone to church, providing meals for families, driving someone to an appointment or doing housecleaning.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. (Galatians 6:9–10)
Maintain sufficient stock of supplies, prepare elements for monthly and occasional Communion times and after the service, to collect, clean & store supplies.
Prepare baptistery for baptism ceremonies and assist Pastors with baptism candidates.
This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me. (1 Corinthians 11:24)
Facilitate communication of church-wide events to members, attendees and those outside of NHPBC by producing media suitable for each occasion.
