Rev. Douglas McMasters

Senior Pastor
Doug was born in England into a US military family and spent his childhood moving between England, California, Indiana, the Philippines, and Illinois. Those early years—and later his own service in the U.S. Air Force—gave him a deep love for people from many cultures and backgrounds.
He graduated summa cum laude from The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles and has served in pastoral ministry for nearly forty years. His ministry has taken him to churches in New York, Los Angeles, and London, and he has also worked with Grace to You, the international radio ministry of John MacArthur, as director of pastoral correspondence. Doug has also served on the board of the Martyn Lloyd‑Jones Trust.
Doug and his wife, Royale, have been married for more than forty years. She grew up on Cape Cod and has worked as a registered nurse in labor and delivery, as well as a UCLA‑certified lactation educator. Royale loves welcoming people into their home, encouraging younger women in their walk with Christ, holding babies, taking long walks, and firmly believes chocolate qualifies as a major food group.
Doug and Royale have two sons and two grandsons, all living in London. When Doug isn’t studying or teaching, he enjoys time with family and friends, good books, meaningful conversations, long walks with his Labrador Retrievers, and trying out new recipes.
Doug often says he feels most alive when opening God’s Word—whether preaching publicly or helping someone understand Scripture in a more personal setting. His greatest joy is seeing people grow in their love for God through a clearer grasp of the gospel: that Jesus Christ is the Savior who died for sinners, and that God freely forgives all who come to Him in repentance and faith.

Rev. Micah McCormick

Associate Pastor

Micah had the blessing of growing up with Christian parents who taught and modeled the gospel. God graciously brought him to see his need for a Savior and to put his trust in Christ and his saving work. Micah completed a Master of Divinity degree from Geneva Reformed Seminary, as well as a Ph.D. in Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Importantly, many churches have had a shaping influence in his life, and he completed internships at Christ Reformed Church near Atlanta, as well as Capitol Hill Baptist Church in Washington, D.C. Micah is eager to see the gospel bear fruit in NHPBC as Christ is proclaimed in all of his glory. His hobbies include reading, surfing, soccer, hiking, and board games.

Bob Teetz

Elder Council

Bob was born into a nominally Protestant family attending Sunday School periodically but did not truly hear the gospel until a college friend shared it with him. The Lord by grace saved him and his wife Lois soon after they began attending a Baptist church in Queens where they were both baptized. Bob and Lois became members of NHPBC in 1979 and raised their three grown children here. Through the years, Bob, now a retired engineer, has served in numerous capacities at NHPBC including Deacon, Trustee, worship leader, choir member, and child care helper. Bob loves to sing God’s praises especially the rich hymns of the faith.   He enjoys spending time with his five grandchildren and is a lifelong Mets fan.

Marc Miller

Elder Council

Marc was saved as an adult by God’s grace after hearing the gospel for the first time through an evangelistic outreach program run by New Hyde Park Baptist Church. Marc and his wife Lori recognized the nature of their sin and need for Jesus as their savior and were baptized together at NHPBC shortly thereafter. They became members in 2005 and raised their daughter Jennie in the church. Through the years, Marc has served NHPBC as Treasurer, Trustee, Sunday school teacher, and small group bible study leader. Marc works in NYC as an executive in the apparel industry where he strives to live out his faith and glorify God. Outside of church and work Marc enjoys playing basketball and pickleball as well as rooting for the Knicks and Mets.
